Last Friday of Every Month Gatherings

Face to face events, formal or informal, may be the best way to recruit people into teaching and to sustain their interest over time. Establishing a regular time to meet (like the last Friday of each month) for informal gatherings will help build a sense of community among those interested in teaching. Agenda topics are limitless: K-12 speaker, K-12 HR director, financial aid advisor, credential student panel, short professor presentation, or a discussion topic (Who was your best teacher?  What concerns do you have about teaching? What kind of teacher do you hope to be?)
