Structures to Foster Multiple Certifications

The Single Subject program in CSUSM's School of Education implemented an initiative in Fall 2012 to increase the number of credentialed teachers with multiple authorizations. Courses were rearranged so that students could take more than one content-focused methods course.Students have been encouraged to take more than one CSET and content-focused methods course. Candidates who pursue initial or additional math and/or science credentials are encouraged to apply for the MSTI funded CMST scholarships to help offset the costs of the CSET and for the test preparation and/or coursework so they are well-prepared for the exam.
